INTRODUCTION
The Department of Animation was set up in 2011 to train talent for the cultural creative industries and to promote the digital content industry. The Department regularly holds international animation festivals, symposiums, forums, workshops and other activities. Its long-term goal is to nurture generations of professionals for making animation feature films to advance Taiwan’s animation film and TV industry. A. Educational Objectives To cultivate humanistic qualities, social concern and professional ethics on animation and technical talents. To foster the technological knowledge and skills in modern animation through domestic and international professional information related to animation learning, technology, aesthetics and practice. To foster the animation creative talents for cultural and creative industries. B. Basic Skills Indicators Artistic and humanistic qualities: have appreciation abilities for all types of art forms and aesthetics.. International and multicultural perspective: understand cultural diversity and localization and develop a global vision and transboundary thinking. Communication and teamwork: develop narrative and expression abilities and strengthen the students’ communication and teamwork. Social concern and ethics: enhance the commitment for the social environment and have work ethics. C. Core Capabilities Image thinking and analytical skills: use visual language, analyze film composition and artistic perspective, cultivate individual thinking and creative ability. Story-telling ability and creativity for animation: have basic professional skills in diverse story-telling and animation making. Professional skills and innovative ability: familiar with the professional knowledge and the integration of the latest digital production technology with the animation creativity. Digital technology and interdisciplinary abilities: comprehensive digital art learning and creative ability in an interdisciplinary art. The development ability for animation art: foster art creativity and originality and develop proactive animation creation. D.
